"The Garden" field, Bethel, NY..... The show was billed as "A Day in the Garden," and while it took place at the site of the legendary Woodstock concert the day I went was all current alt-rock acts. The event took place Friday, August 14th through this day (Sunday the 16th). On Friday, they had Ziggy Marley, Don Henley, Stevie Nicks, and Woodstock vets Ten Years After. On Saturday, they had Lou Reed, Joni Mitchell (who was advised by her manager not to play the 1969 festival to instead make an appearance on The Dick Cavett Show), Donovan, and Woodstock vets Pete Townshend, Melanie, and Richie Havens. I didn't go to those days, just Sunday. I was there with my girlfriend, and it was very interesting to see live music at what was formerly Max Yasgur's farm.
